She doesn’t believe in making a quick buck but in building a business that is solidly based on genuine product and service quality. And she has already established an outlet in the eastern part of Singapore to prove that – in addition to the HV outlet, which is now more than a year old (as of Dec 2011).
Cloris has been in well-being and beauty industry for over 5 years before starting her own nail business. And she certainly brings with her a fresh perspective to the trade.
She defines good service as “providing what the customer wants in an honest manner.”
This is what she says, “We will recommend to customers only what they need and want. We don’t believe in hard-sell. We have “packages” but we don’t sell them unless they ask for it. Every customer wants to feel being taken care of, not harassed. So, personalized service and interaction with clients are very important to me. I am here all the time making sure my customers get a good experience the moment they walk into my boutique. We also try to make them feel comfortable with our ambience, sofas and refreshment choices. We are watchful over details because these go a long way to making a difference to the customers’ well-being and happiness. Not only that, if they have accompanying partners or friends, we will show them hospitality too. We do things with our heart over here and it shows. We use top quality products imported from the US even for our most basic service. You can also see the SPA products we use. We do not hide these behind the curtains. ”
Ironically, Cloris realized her entrepreneurial calling when she was pregnant during her stay in Turkey – when her husband was attached there on business for 2 years.
So, when it was time for her delivery, she returned to Singapore. And without much hesitation, she started her first nail business.
She is mindful that The Nailist in the village is surrounded by many established nail specialists. Nevertheless, she is confident that she can hold her ground because of her sound business philosophy.
She continues, “I have a list of things to remind my staff of good service each day. Hygiene is top in the list. I make sure the boutique has all the necessary equipment for my therapists to use and I personally train my staff on how to use them. We ensure the equipment have sufficient time to sit in the sterilizer. We also provide plastic bags for each customer when they soak their feet so as to avoid any cross-contamination.”
When you walk into The Nailist shop, you can rest assure that there will be no arm-twisting, just a lot of attention on your nails..
So, as the saying goes, “The devil is in the details”. And The Nailist has taken care of that.
